OH! dang Saladang

Sooo I ate at Saladang this week, and honestly don't judge a book by is cover. When you first drive up it's this big cement building with no color or anything but a little tiny sign up above the door that says Saladang. Inside are beautiful flower arrangements on all the tables and in the center of the restaurant is a larger arrangement. I went for lunch and I found they have pretty good lunch specials. You got two spring rolls, your choice of white or brown rice, your main dish, and a starter garden salad with peanut dressing. But, I got pad thai which was not apart of the lunch specials. I was surprised at the presentation of this dish. It wasn't the normal noodles just slapped on a plate. It almost looked like a noodle omelet. The pad thai noodles were wrapped inside a thin layer of egg. The noodles were cooked with a peanut sauce, chicken, and shrimp. If you like the plate had a lot a veggies but for me I didn't really like all that garnish it almost over powered my plate. But, none the less it was so tasty and full of flavor I hardly noticed. At the end of the meal just when I thought it was all over I didn't get those stale fortune cookies I always get at every other restaurant, I got an orange and cream small scoop of ice cream. It tasted like a orange dream-sicle. It was a perfect ending to a good meal. And the very very cherry on top just before I left I got a nice light mint wrapped in colorful cellophane. So please stop by Saladang on 363 South Fair Oaks in Pasadena, California.

ps sorry guys they didn't have a website so I'ma link it over to another site where you can read some other reviews and opinions.

Muy Bueno!

Today I ate at Cabreras Mexican food. I had the chicken and mole. This place is family owned and i know they have other locations but I heard they were not as good so I went to the one in Arcadia on live oak. When first seated you are served chips and a typical tomato salsa. When going to this restaurant be sure to ask if they have hotter salsa but only if you like it spicy. They will offer you a choice from red or green salsa. I choose to get both, but I favor the green one. But, if you like really hot salsa thats as good as its gonna get lol. BUUUUUUT, I ordered the chicken with mole (pronounced mo-lay in case you don't eat much mexican food). Mole is made with chocolate, spices, and different chilies. You get a thigh and a leg and it is served with beans and rice. I asked for extra avocado and it was 55 cents exrta. I paid a lil over 10 dollars for this meal. Cabreras isn't the best place I've ever been to but I do like their mole. They have a great kids menu and the desserts are pretty tasty. So, I liked it.. It's not a bad place to go. Drop by Cabreras on 625 East Live Oak in Arcadia.
