NAGA NAGA RAMEN!

Hey all!!... OK so I know I've been M.I.A for a while for no worries I'm here to stay yaay! ok so anyways... I went to NAGA NAGA RAMEN this week and I had eel over rice served with miso soup.

The miso was pretty good but then again how can you mess up miso? The service was ok I didnt wait long for my food on account of I didn't bother reading that my meal came with miso. So, needless to say that my meal started out with a delightful surprise. To bad my meal didn't fallow the trend. The meal itself was nicely put together minus the needless garnish that didn't add any taste and wasn't even that appealing to look at. The eel itself was not properly cut and the fat that was hidden under the meat itself was gross. I love eel don't get me wrong but when I have to pull out chunks of fat out of my mouth then you clearly did something wrong. I don't know if it was under cooked or not properly cleaned or what. The meal started out quit nicely actually the eel, rice, and sweet sauce were nice complements to each other. Until, my whole meal went south when I bit into a chunk of fat. To bad the beautiful fish tank clever and cute place settings couldn't make this dish taste any better. All in all it was mediocre at best. Maybe next time when I'm feeling brave I'll go back and order something different. So I'm still looking for the most high quality food for the least amount of money. See you all soon!

HEY HEY ALL!!!!

OH! dang Saladang

Sooo I ate at Saladang this week, and honestly don't judge a book by is cover. When you first drive up it's this big cement building with no color or anything but a little tiny sign up above the door that says Saladang. Inside are beautiful flower arrangements on all the tables and in the center of the restaurant is a larger arrangement. I went for lunch and I found they have pretty good lunch specials. You got two spring rolls, your choice of white or brown rice, your main dish, and a starter garden salad with peanut dressing. But, I got pad thai which was not apart of the lunch specials. I was surprised at the presentation of this dish. It wasn't the normal noodles just slapped on a plate. It almost looked like a noodle omelet. The pad thai noodles were wrapped inside a thin layer of egg. The noodles were cooked with a peanut sauce, chicken, and shrimp. If you like the plate had a lot a veggies but for me I didn't really like all that garnish it almost over powered my plate. But, none the less it was so tasty and full of flavor I hardly noticed. At the end of the meal just when I thought it was all over I didn't get those stale fortune cookies I always get at every other restaurant, I got an orange and cream small scoop of ice cream. It tasted like a orange dream-sicle. It was a perfect ending to a good meal. And the very very cherry on top just before I left I got a nice light mint wrapped in colorful cellophane. So please stop by Saladang on 363 South Fair Oaks in Pasadena, California.

ps sorry guys they didn't have a website so I'ma link it over to another site where you can read some other reviews and opinions.

Muy Bueno!

Today I ate at Cabreras Mexican food. I had the chicken and mole. This place is family owned and i know they have other locations but I heard they were not as good so I went to the one in Arcadia on live oak. When first seated you are served chips and a typical tomato salsa. When going to this restaurant be sure to ask if they have hotter salsa but only if you like it spicy. They will offer you a choice from red or green salsa. I choose to get both, but I favor the green one. But, if you like really hot salsa thats as good as its gonna get lol. BUUUUUUT, I ordered the chicken with mole (pronounced mo-lay in case you don't eat much mexican food). Mole is made with chocolate, spices, and different chilies. You get a thigh and a leg and it is served with beans and rice. I asked for extra avocado and it was 55 cents exrta. I paid a lil over 10 dollars for this meal. Cabreras isn't the best place I've ever been to but I do like their mole. They have a great kids menu and the desserts are pretty tasty. So, I liked it.. It's not a bad place to go. Drop by Cabreras on 625 East Live Oak in Arcadia.

Yes i Kansai!

OH yes I can Kansai. I ate at Kansai this week, and I have to say this is the first time I ate at a Japanese restaurant that wasn't all sushi. They had maybe one sushi item. They served rice, noodle, and sashimi combos and boxes. I had the OYAKO JYU which was a box of rice with diced chicken cooked with an egg and grilled onions on top. The meal came with pickled vegetables and miso soup. It was all so good my meal was hot and steaming from beginning to end. So please stop by and try something new at 36 South Fair Oaks in Old Town Pasadena and take a stroll into Kansai and I highly recommend the rice boxes.

So I went to two restaurants! This is #2!

SOOO I ate at the restaurant as suggested to me by Josh Mendoza and I went to 1810 Argentinean Restaurant. When i first got there I was served a french roll with chimchurri. And i ordered pollo al ajo which was grilled chicken breast, with caramelized onions and garlic served with mashed potatoes. The chicken was cooked perfectly and chicken was definitely a good match with mashed potatoes. The potatoes were lightly seasoned in herbs and had small pieces of potato to give it that homemade feel. All in all this meal was absolutely delightful! I recommend stopping by old town Pasadena the address is 121 w. Colorado remember the name of the place is 1810 they also offer three course meals for 25 bucks so its not so bad but it is well worth it!
